From Squid User's Guide

My squid have the problem

use this command

1. squid start

then

1. service --status-all

squid (pid 4758 4756) running... squid:Error:Could not read pid file /var/spool/squid.pid:(13) Permission denied

squid use correct

but

use this command

service squid start

then fail

check the /etc/squid/cache.log Failed to verify one of the swap directories, Check cache.log

       for details.  Run 'squid -z' to create swap directories
       if needed, or if running Squid for the first time.
